Freelance Copywriter Guidelines

What could happen if your SEO freelance copywriters employ spamming techniques on your website

What is copywriting spam?

You need to make sure your freelance copywriters do NOT:

...or engage in other copywriting techniques that are aimed purely at search engines with no thought to the reader's experience. The best way to write successful copy is to write specifically for the users in the first place, with an eye to what's search engine friendly in the second place.

You never want to receive this notice!

Google uses automated programmes that crawl the internet looking for spammy sites employing dubious copywriting techniques - and penalises them! If your site is particularly shameless you may not even get the offer of a reinclusion request. Where your website once stood you'll just see a notice:

No pages from your site are currently included in Google’s index due to violations of the webmaster guidelines. Please review our webmaster guidelines and modify your site so that it meets those guidelines. Once your site meets our guidelines, you can request reinclusion and we’ll evaluate your site. [?] Submit a reinclusion request

If you receive this notice, and if you're offered a reinclusion request you should find the issue causing the problem on your website, clean it up, then follow the “Submit a reinclusion request” link, and fill out the form. Hopefully, your site will be included in Google's pages some time after it's been re-evaluated. But who can say how long this might take? Better not to spam in the first place and take this chance.

People use copywriting spamming techniques to get short term gain - but this is NOT ADVISABLE since, as we all know, short term gain leads to long term pain. Your site will be penalised and possibly taken down by Google: copywriting spamming is not worth it!
